Village Primary Schools
Values-based Education
3-hour Weekday program held year-round in the evening from 4pm - 7pm. The Village Primary Schools provide relaxed venues, in the community gathering space, run by the ISHPATA Primary School Teachers. Class Schedule is:
4-4:30pm : Traditional Meditation - Children practice folk mental and spiritual practices and disciplines.
4:30 - 5pm: Village Games - Physical Education to strengthen group participation and teamwork
5 - 5:30pm: Reading Lesson
5:30 - 6pm: Writing Lesson
6 - 6:30pm: Arithmetic Lesson
6:30 - 7pm: Ethics Class - Core Belief concepts and Folklore
ISHPATA Teacher Training Program:
Village teachers are selected by committee based on merit and values. Teachers receive a monthly salary of $50 and receive teacher training 2x per year. The local committee (7 members) provide additional funding for teacher training and tools and school supplies.
